O This course will review the evolution of information systems in healthcare, the major types of healthcare information system applications, the common hardware configuration, major types of databases, structured and unstructured data, decision support systems, confidentiality, privacy and security, and emerging technologies. This course also covers terminologies and classifications commonly used for administrative and statistical reporting, other vocabulary, terminology and classifications systems, data standards for healthcare and the application of vocabulary, terminology and classifications systems.
