P This course focuses on developing students understanding of cultural diversity and its impact on teaching and learning in United States schools. Students will explore personal values and attitudes toward diverse student populations, examine the issues that arise from teaching in diverse classrooms, and use current educational research to develop a better understanding of incorporating students? cultural diversity and experiences into lessons, teaching strategies, and instructional activities. Successful completion of this course requires the completion of 30 hours of fieldwork in a diverse educational setting.
