O Construction Techniques 1 is a lecture/lab class which offers the student insights into the construction process and practical experiences in the practices and principles of construction. Lecture portions of this course will introduce the student to systems, methods and equipment available and commonly used on a light construction project. A construction project will be followed from site work through dry-in during class discussions. Lab sessions, field trips and/or practical exercises will allow students to use carpentry hand and power tools and to practice the skills often required of the small contractor's labor force.
