1.5 V The student will demonstrate and apply advanced language skills through writing and communicating ideas effectively. The student will be able to: Apply basic rules of mechanics including capitalization, punctuation, homonyms, and spelling, apply basic rules of grammar usage, including use of verbs, nouns, pronouns, and modifiers, apply basic rules of sentence structure, including phrases, clauses, and sentences, plan and compose well-organized writing samples on a given topic, utilizing the rules of Edited American English (EAE), analyze and critique three basic types of documents: business, instructional or 'how-to,' and informational, correct and revise documents f or organization, sentence structure, usage, and mechanics, plan, compose.
