Tool and Fixture Design Pre: CAD101, MET122, MET132 Co: This course presents the basic design principles of tools, jigs, fixtures and dies, and how many defects in production can be eliminated by design changes. New design ideas, practical tips for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, problems of limited production, information on modular tooling, and automated tool handling are covered. Laboratory time will be used to demonstrate concepts. (2 hours of lecture, 2 hours of lab per week)
