World Class Manufacturing Pre: MET222 and MET224 Co: IEL250 and MET232 This course provides a comprehensive technical survey of production automation and related systems. Topics include robots, assembly lines, computer controlled machinery, automatic assembly systems, automatic storage and retrieval systems, programmable controllers, personal computers, and automatic-guided vehicles. The application of these topics to smaller companies and fully automated factories will be discussed. (3 hours of lecture per week)
