Theory and Science of Cosmetology 1 (54 hrs) Pre: Co: This course emphasizes sanitation and sterilization as it applies to the beauty salon. Covers the normal structure and functions of the scalp, skin, hair and nails, as well as those conditions affecting these structures that may be encountered by the cosmetologist. Bones, muscles, and nerves of the head, face, shoulders, arms and hands, are also covered. This course includes a study of basic chemistry of cosmetics and hair preparations.
