3 credits This is a course in intermediate algebra designed for the student who has completed coursework in elementary or introductory algebra. It prepares students for the study of college mathematics or functions. Topics include: exponential laws, operations with polynomials, solving many types of equations and inequalities, enhanced graphing techniques, simplifying and operating on radicals and logarithms, and extensive work with functions and function notation. Skills acquired are applied to application problems. Prerequisite: MAT121, MAT124, or placement. Fall and spring.
