History of Rock & Roll traces the development of America's most popular music genre from its origins in rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel and country music to the present. Emphasis will be placed on the development of music listening skills, written analysis and on understanding the many different styles of rock & roll by studying representative works of well-known artists and composers.
