Description:
The goal of this course is to teach students the basic skills in the use of clay. Coil building, slab construction and wheel-thrown work will be emphasized. A strong foundation in the use of glazes, clays and firing procedures will also be provided. There will also be a unit on various firing techniques. The history of ceramic arts will be studied, focusing on a number of influential people in the field both past and present. 3 cr. 4 Studio.
