This course examines fundamental laws and principles underlying chemical action and the properties of elements and compounds based on the study of atomic structure, chemical bonding and the periodic system. The laboratory experience provides for quantitative and qualitative analyses. CHE 131 satisfies a Math/Science curriculum laboratory science requirement. Prerequisite: High school chemistry or CHE 107. 4 cr. 3 Lec. 3 Lab. (Departmental Standards Version of CHE 131 - approved by Academic Affairs on 5/17/07).
