Credits: 3 Catalog Description: Introduces mechanical concepts (e.g., force and torque) integral to the understanding of resisted exercise systems. Explores selected biomechanical principles, especially those related to musculoskeletal performance during exercise and gait. Includes regional functional anatomy, with emphasis on normal joint and muscle function, clinical pathologies, and acquisition of skill in palpating superficial anatomic structures. Two class hours, two lab hours. Prerequisite: BIO 105 with a minimum grade of C.
