A look at the earth's history, ancient environments, and the fossil record. The dimension of time is a unifying theme that links the history and present state of the oceans; the fossil fuels - earth's savings bank; landscapes and their "evolution," fossilization and the "endangered species" of the past; the evolution and fossil record of invertebrates and fishes; the dinosaurs - when giants walked the earth; mammals, man and glaciers; the geological history of New York State and the Northeast.
