Topics covered are Maxwell's equations and electromagnetic waves; special theory of relativity; photoelectric effect, Compton effect, pair production and annihilation, X-Rays, electron diffraction, debroglie waves; particle in a box; uncertainty principles, Bohr model of the atom; Schrodinger equation; Pauli exclusion principle and the periodic table; nuclear structure; radioactivity; nuclear fission and fusion reactions; Maxwell-Boltzman distribution, quantum statistics, laser, band theory of solids and semiconductors.
