This course provides a study of the concepts, principles, procedures, and issues necessary for optimizing the value of records and information on an organization-wide basis. The focus is on systems, tools, and guidelines for effective records management. Topics include an overview of records management, the management of active and inactive records, electronic and automated systems, image technology, and other related records management functions. Problem-solving activities, projects, and case problems are included. Prerequisite: CS105, equivalent experience, or permission of instructor. Hours of class per week: 3.
