A modern approach to introductory algebra. This course is designed for students who have a limited mathematics background. Topics include sets and number systems; operations; exponents; polynomials and rational expressions; first-degree equations; graphs; verbal problems. Not credited toward the Associate Degree mathematics requirements. In certain academic programs completion of this course, based on the student's academic background, may be necessary preparation for enrollment in courses required for graduation.
