This is an orientation course designed to introduce the terminology and concepts of the office automation/information system in the modern office on-line, interactive office. Topics include an industry overview, supporting mission-critical functions and the information cycle. Emphasis is on the people/teamwork, procedures, and technology, including e-mail and the internet, utilized in office systems. System concepts are presented. Laboratory exercises are completed on PCs using the Windows environment with various software, e-mail and internet access. Co-requisite: OT 133 or OT133 & CS105.. Hours of class per week: 3. Additional hours in the Office Technology Lab.
