This course is taught using PCs in the Office Technology Lab by a self-paced, individualized method of instruction combining basic word processing funcions with keyboarding skills. Speed and accuracy continue to be stressed. Students learn to create business documents using keyboarding skills and basic word processing functions. Documents include e-mail, memos, letters, and reports. Proofreading and composing at the computer are included. Prerequisite: OT 133 or equivalent. Hours of class per week: 3. Additional hours are required in the Office Technology Lab. Advanced placement pretest in course is optional, however, a five-minute timed writing pretest is required.
