The course provides an introduction to the nature and assessment of developmental disabilities and the skills necessary for working with them. It includes a study of the psychological needs and adjustments required by those with physical, mental, and emotional handicaps. The course identifies and analyzes resources and services available for the developmentally disabled in our area. Prerequisites: HS 110, concurrent registration in SS 297.
