A course designed to assist students in acquiring knowledge and skills that enable them to communicate more effectively with other people, individually and in small groups. Learning activities include role-playing and human relations skill training exercises as well as film and lecture presentations on theories of interpersonal communication. Topics include obstacles to communication, attending behavior, listening skills, communication skills, conflict management, systems theory, gender differences, family dynamics, leadership, group roles, group norms and pressures.
