Topics include elementary symbolic logic, introductory set theory, numeration systems, number bases, modular arithmetic, and properties of abstract mathematical systems. Not open to students who have credit for Intermediate Algebra, MA 151, Math 11 or Course III. Not credited toward the A.S. degree in Math/Science or Engineering Science but may be used for elective credit. Hours of class per week: 3.
