Prerequisite: MK 201, FM Program Elecive or permission of Program Director; and CS 125. This course explores the function of promotional and in-house advertising through the channels of traditional media and marketing activities that stimulate consumer purchasing and retailer eff ectiveness. The student will focus on the importance of visual merchandising in three dimensional display and print layout. The eff ect of direct mail on the target customer, the message in ad copy, and the power of Internet advertising will also be examined in the process of selling. As a culminating experience, the student will develop an ad campaign that incorporates a variety of promotional tools and techniques.
