This course is designed for students with advanced aural and reading/ writing profi ciency, with the goal of improving the student's listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in order to enter an academic setting. Attention is given to increasing vocabulary in academic content areas and to providing the student with opportunity to practice the critical reading and writing strategies needed in higher education. The goal is to develop fl uency and student confi dence in all forms of English communication through a variety of student centered activities. Credit from this course may not be applied to a degree or certifi cate program.
