The philosophy and history of Therapeutic Recreation (TR). The physical, social and psychological barriers to access as well as the principles of normalization and inclusion. An emphasis on the TR process and the provision of providing a continuum of services based on clients' needs. Students learn how to adapt activities (e.g., aquatics; arts and crafts; dance) to meet the needs, interests and abilities of individuals with specific disabilities.
