This course is a survey of ethics and morality in western and eastern philosophical traditions. The following topics will be addressed: definitions of ethics and morality, ethical relativism, egoism, ethical theories, virtue, feminist ethics, the ethics of compassion and suffering (Buddhism), Benevolence (Confucius) and Taoism. Applied ethics will be explored via the analysis of current issues in media ethics, political ethics, business ethics, educational ethics and bioethics ( 0 lecture hour) (3 semester hours)
