An applications-oriented course covering the non-calculus portions of mathematics needed by students majoring in business, management, economics, and life or social sciences. Topics include straight lines and linear functions, systems of linear equations and matrices, linear programming, mathematics of finance, Markov chains and the Theory of Games. Note: A graphing calculator is required. A TI -83 or TI-86 will be used in the classroom and is recommended. Prerequisite: Elementary Algebra (MA 100). ( 3 semester hours) E/O Spring
