This course introduces students to the theories, concepts, research findings and practical skills of communicating with people from diverse ethnic, racial, cultural and national backgrounds. Activities and readings are designed to develop cultural self-awareness in students, and build upon this to increase sensitivity and communication competence in an international world. An in-depth research project focusing on a non-Western culture is required. Prerequisite: EN 101. ( 0 lecture hour) (3 semester hours) Fall
