Emphasizes everyday chemistry for non-science majors while also serving as a beginning course for nursing students, massage therapy students and science majors who did not study chemistry in high school. Theoretical and conceptual chemistry necessary to interpret the natural and technical world is presented. Topics include manipulations of measurements and unit systems, atomic structure, chemical bonding, the Periodic Table, nuclear chemistry issues, acids and bases, inorganic and organic nomenclature and environmental chemistry.
