Alkynes, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivatives, aromatic compounds and biochemicals are studied. Emphasis is placed upon resonance and aromaticity. Theory and instrumental techniques for infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopy are presented. Prerequisite: CH 201.
