This course offers an in-depth look at the human muscular system. The major muscles of the upper and lower extremities will be discussed, including their origin, insertion, and functions. Postural considerations, effective positions for working these muscles, and stretch and slack will be presented. Joints structure and function, nerve innervation, acupuncture points, and meridian pathways of these involved muscles will also be reviewed. Corequisite: BI 130.
