This course will provide the theoretical and historical framework of Eastern Anatomy and Physiology. Students will explore the concepts of Qi, Blood, Shen, Jing, Yin/Yang, Five Element Theory, 12 meridian and vessel pathways, and their potential application to bodywork. Zang-Fu and Eight Principles will be introduced. The underlying causes of disease will be examined by analyzing the physiology and basic patterns of disharmony of each organ system. Students will develop skills in Qi palpation, self cultivation, and body/mind preparedness to practice Eastern bodywork. ( 3 semester hours) Fall
