(Formerly known as: CJ 054-1AD and 055AD) The Pre-Academy Physical Fitness Course is designed to prepare students for the physical aspects of the police academy course approved by the California Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST). Students will perform various physical exercises including the POST-mandated physical agility test (99-yard agility run, body drag, six-foot solid wall, six-foot chain link fence & 500-yard run), cardiovascular endurance exercises, and various calisthenics. Proper body mechanics, techniques, and conditioning principles will be applied with an emphasis on proper nutrition and injury prevention. This course may be taken 4 times. Lecture & lab. Pass/no pass only.
