(Formerly known as: BVP 170AB) This is a comprehensive introduction to the theory of DVD design and production with an emphasis on menu design. The course explores the main elements of DVD authoring and guides students on equipment selection, design techniques and approaches and comparison of DVD software. The course examines issues to consider when designing DVD menus, encoding and DVD authoring. Students will learn how to apply their skills to DVD interface design and become familiar with the specialized requirements of DVD production. This course may be taken 2 times. Lecture & lab. Optional pass/no pass or grade. Transferable to CSU.
