Lec-2 Advise: ESL 62 or placement in ESL 72 or 150, OR completion of or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 90 Not open to students who have completed HLTH 53. An interdisciplinary, introductory, and integrative presentation of natural and social science material relevant to psychological, social, and physical well-being, and the prevention of disease and injury. Emphasis on the nature of being human, the use and abuse of drugs including alcohol, human sexuality, the control of reproduction, intimacy and the family, optimum nutrition, fitness, disease, genetic and environmental health factors, consumer health practices, and coping with aging and dying.
