A selective study of the major figures and literary trends of the Latin American literature. The selected works and authors are studied from the point of view of their contributions to universal literature. Emphasis is placed on figures like: Isabel Allende, Jorge Luis Borges, Alejo Carpentier, José Donoso, Laura Esquivel, Carlos Fuentes, Gabriel García Márquez, René Marqués, Gabriela MistraOctavio Paz, and others.
