Prerequisite: 100 level anthropology, or sociology, or permission of the instructor. This course combines the anthropologic approaches of archaeology, ethno history and cultural anthropology to introduce students to the indigenous peoples and nations of North America, as they existed prior to the twentieth century. The course will cover prehistoric past, contact period, and the development of Native/Non-Native relationships, together with a view of the changing lives of modern Native Americans. Course fulfills International/ Intercultural Requirement.
