Prerequisite: None required; ECE* K101 and ECE* K182 recommended. This course is designed for childcare providers who are preparing for their Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential through the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C. Students must be working or volunteering in a child care program and have completed at least 250 hours of work in this setting. The course will assist students an understanding of the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) and provide the foundation for acquiring the skills required for a CDA. This course will focus on the six CDA Competency Goals and thirteen Functional Areas and will assist students in the preparation of the required CDA resource file, parent opinion questionnaires, and CDA assessment observation instrument.
