Prerequisites: MAT* K095 and high school Physics or equivalent. This course gives an introduction to the physics of the twentieth century. Topics include special relativity, quantum physics, atomic physics and nuclear physics, as well as an overview of electricity and magnetism. Many classic experiments of Modern Physics, such as Frank-Hertz and the photoelectric effect, will be performed. Three-hour lecture; one two-hour laboratory.
