Spring This course provides students with an introduction to the more advanced HVAC/R control systems that are typically used in commercial and industrial energy management systems. Topics of study include: pneumatic controls, variable air volume systems, economizers, and direct digital control (DDC) components and strategies. Prerequisites: HVAC 130, Electricity for HVAC/R; HVAC 131, HVAC/R Electrical Systems Application. Corequisite: HVAC 221, Diagnosing and Servicing Lab. hot air systems design, heating and cooling load calculations, appliance selection, energy conservation, HVAC/R symbols used for drafting, drafting and dimensioning. All drafting applications will use current Microsoft Visio software.
