Spring This course is the continuation of DHYG 111. Community Dental Services is designed to provide the student with knowledge and tools to be able to effectively assume a responsive role in community dental health programs. The dental hygienist's role in community dental health services will be explored. The student will be exposed to the principles of community dental health services and education. The student will explore local, state, federal and international programs relating to dental health. Each student will be required to plan, implement and evaluate a project designed to apply the principles of community dental health. Open only to matriculated Dental Hygiene students. Prerequisites: DHYG 111, Introduction to Community Dental Services; DHYG 230, Preventative Dentistry III; DHYG 231, Clinical Dental Hygiene II. Corequisites: DHYG 240, Preventative Dentistry IV; DHYG 241, Clinical Dental Hygiene III.
