Fall, Spring Lab fee will be required. This course provides a foundation for more advanced study. Concepts presented include evolution, survey of living organisms, physiological functions in organisms (digestion, respiration, circulation, immunology, homeostatis of body fluids, reproduction, nervous system, receptors, and effectors). Laboratory exercises include experimental investigation and anatomical study of mammalian organs and systems. Many of the laboratory activities involve dissection of animals or mammalian organs. Prerequisite: BIOL 190, Biology I. Students are encouraged to take General Chemistry (CHEM 110/CHEM 111) early in their studies.
