The course will outline the body's lines of defense with an emphasis on antibody-antigen reactions, cells responsible for the immune response and their interactions, and the structure and synthesis of antibodies. The response of the body to specific conditions, such as pregnancy, immunization, transfusions, and tumors will be investigated. Prerequisites: BIOL 150, General Biology I and BIOL 151, General Biology II or BIOL 190, Biology I and BIOL 191, Biology II.
