A study of the legal problems in the private security sector. Included is a review of the powers and restrictions on "private police," e.g. arrest, search and seizure, eavesdropping, and a comparison with the powers of law enforcement agencies. Civil liabilities of private security personnel are studied as well as aspects of civil law. Licensing statues are also analyzed. Prerequisite: ENG 02 or RDL 02 if required.
