Provides knowledge of theory, safety practices, equipment, and techniques required for successful flux cored arc welding (FCAW). Qualification tests, all positions, are used in the evaluation of student progress toward making industrial standard welds. Topics include: FCAW safety and health practices, FCAW theory, machine set-up and operation, shielded gas selection, and FCAW joints in all positions. Contact hours: Class - 2, Lab - 8.
