Prerequisite: RUSS 1001 or equivalent This course is a continuation of RUSS1001, with emphasis on the development of proficiency and communicative competence at the novice level in the four basic skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing as defined by the American Council on the Teaching for Foreign Languages Proficiency Guidelines. The course also emphasizes awareness of various sociocultural aspects and the distinctiveness of certain cultural traditions.
