Prerequisite: COMS 2140 This course includes review of basic Local and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) concepts and the equipment necessary to implement them. From this base, a special emphasis is placed on the router and its operation in a WAN environment, including the process and purpose of routing, especially in relation to the TCP/IP protocol. Lab activities will deal extensively with the setup, programming, and the debugging of routers using both static and dynamic routing tables.
