1 semester, 3 credits This course studies the background, drafting, adoption, and interpretation of the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, and the values, ideas, and experiences of Colonial and Revolutionary America that underlay the Constitution in 1787.The changes in demographics, technology, medicine, sentiments influenced its reading and interpretation, and the legal reasoning and historical context of most of the major Supreme Court decisions.
