Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 101. 3 credits A survey of musical traditions of the world's peoples, with primary emphasis on indigenous, popular, and art music of Africa, Asia, Indonesia and the Americas. The course will explore a wide range of musical styles and place each within the cultural and historical context from which it arises. Attendance at a live musical performance is required.
