Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 101. 3 credits formerly HS 101 Introduction to Human Services Occupations This course is intended to acquaint the student with the emerging roles of the human services worker. Specialties of professionals within the human services field are also reviewed. Some professional qualifications as well as salary ranges and employment opportunities are discussed. Basic concepts relating to mental health and social service delivery systems are explored. The student becomes familiar with community resources and is introduced to the basic helping skills of the human services worker.
