5 credit Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial arts dance form. It was created in the 16th Century by Africans as a way to protect themselves against the slave owners. This unique form of marital arts is disguised within rhythmic music, dance, and gymnastics. This course is designed to provide the history of Capoeira and allow the student to experience its multiple benefits. This is a non-contact course.
